AIRGUN FIELD TARGET

KITTITAS VALLEY RIFLE AND PISTOL CLUB HUNTER
CLASS AIRGUN FIELD TARGET MATCHES FOR 2023
THE KVRPC WILL SPONSOR ANOTHER SERIES OF AIRGUN FIELD TARGET MATCHES.
THE 2023 FIELD TARGET MATCHES WILL BE HELD ON THE FOLLOWING DATES.

APRIL 15 JULY 15
MAY 13 AUGUST 19
JUNE 10 SEPTEMBER 16

The KVRPC airgun matches consist of 40 field targets for airguns yielding up to 20 ft. lbs. of energy. For high power airguns including up to .30 caliber there is a 40 target series of steel knock over targets. The start times for the meets will be announced via e-mail prior to the meet dates. We will try for a fairly early start time for the meets so the event will not consume an entire day.

For airguns of up to 20 ft. lbs. of energy the KVRPC airgun field target shooting for the
2023 season will closely follow the AMERICAN AIRGUN FIELD TARGET ASSOCIATION
(AAFTA) HUNTER CLASS RULES for airgun field target shooting. The AAFTA rules for the HUNTER CLASS were updated in September of 2022 and are available on the AAFTA website. For the high power airguns of up to and including .30 caliber a knock over heavy duty steel target is used. The two classes are scored separately.
REMEMBER, airgun power output is calculated by:
( Pellet velocity X pellet velocity ) X pellet weight in grains divided by 450,436 which will give you the ft. lbs. of pellet energy your airgun is putting out. The standard field
targets we use are good for up to 20 ft. lbs. of energy and no more. A chronograph will
be used to evaluate any suspect rifle pellet combination.
